Is he the last one sentenced? If not, who are left and what are their sentences looking to be.

Look like the Feds gave him a slap on the wrist.
He'll be out in 3 years. Kingfish do a post in 2020.

So, Kingfish who else is waiting to be tried, sentenced, or indicted? When does he report to the US B of P?

Mccrory still walking around free

Hell fire, looks like the dumbass got some time tacked on for stealing his Christmas lights. I wish he had to serve his time at Parchman.

Never thought 35 years st mdoc and we would want him back.... Maybe not him butcommu ity corrections is even worse under pelecia hall than it was under Marshall fisher. It just doesn't make sense for. How can an agency to hire most ignorant incompetents for top manager jobs. Deity commissioners in jobs where they have never worked and have o education. How can a person who has never been a cop or shot a gun be over probation officer. She doesn't. She has a big crutch and she just gave his wife a huge promotion.

Soooooo.... That is why there was a huge salary increase for a fake job for somebody in North MS.

It ain't going to be pretty where ever he goes. Too many peeps want his manhood.

Is he fixin to turn his life around?

Hold on! Was Epps immediately transferred to the custody of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons or is he in the Madison County lockup? There's a federal prison fifty miles northwest of Madison. Why the delay if that's what happened?

Anonymous said...

@ 6:12; Why did you post a link to the Madison Intake Report for a Bennie Evans from a year ago?

Anonymous said...

10:50, Perhaps its because he has relatives and friends who work there. His brother or sister is a warden. In addition he has hired several people from there to work at MDOC. I don't believe he will spend any time in Yazoo City.

Anonymous said...

12:04 - Keep up that 'straw grasping' 12:04. He's probably got some sort of connection to every prison system in the Continental U.S.

Who did he hire from there to work at MDOC, as if it matters? You actually think he doesn't have years of solid connections to the Madison County Regional Jail? Please try again.

he won't be out in three years. federal sentences are not day for day. he must earn 15 per cent of the sentence with good behavior to be eligible for release after serving 85 per cent of the 235 months, or 199.75 months, or 16.65 years.

A) I'm glad to see he was handed a decent sentence.
B) Disappointed by the lackluster fine, but maybe he might be able to swing it.
C) He will spend a decade plus in prison.
D) Will be interesting to see what federal facility he ends up in.
E) Isn't going to be a good situation wherever he is housed up because of who he is and what he's done. But living conditions and quality of care provided will be much better than those incarcerated by the state.
E) Sad day for Mississippi. What a disgrace.

Epps' son works the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, but nobody knows what he does - he's just on the payroll. PEER and/or the Department of Audit need to investigate this "brother-in-law" deal!

Seems odd that the judge would give more time than the US atty asked for.

Madison County is an approved jail for transit federal prisoners (Hinds County is not) and he will stay there until the BOP picks his butt up and puts him in their system. The length of sentence means he won't go to a country club facility. It will be a real corrections facility. The transfer will be soon.

Appears to be a fair sentence. Dickie got a tiny sentence for bribing a judge. He should still be in prison. Did they get all the stolen money back from Epps?

Anonymous said...

Attn 10:46 It is quite obvious they didn't get the money from Scruggs.

Don't forget Epps has already forfeited his house and retirement accounts totaling over $1 million. Personally, I think he should forfeit his PERS pension as well since he committed these crimes during the course of his official duties.

There is some reason (cash?) why he broke back into his locked up forfeited home. I think it might be a good idea to buy that locked up house and tear it apart board by board.

I sure hope he gave the FEDS the info on those paper products contracts that were arranged by those high and mighty consulting boys. They went straight to Christine to get the maximum % cut.He often hopped on DePlane and was delivered to his condo down on the Coast.Lots of perks for tons of Charmin. Maybe they are just too cool to jail. Fly me a river!!!

1009, under Epps doc was half way to bell. Finished the trip when he left. GROW UP! if you have 35 years just go home.
nothing is going to change in community corrections....it will always be politically incorrect to fire the deputy commissioner....go on home old ma .....
s...

Same message to 804.

He looks a bit older with grey hair. Will Grecian Formula be available at the federal facility? I picture a commissary that looks like one of those walk in stores in a large airport. Magazines, windbreakers, jogging pants, chapeaus, hair care products. regional team clothing, earbuds, postcards, window decals, jewelry, shit to send to momma.

So, he forfeited what might amount to a million. He rat-holed ten mil more. Maybe Bennett Malone's wife is watching over that.

Scrubs should have to forfeit his money he made through buying the Mississippi Justice system. That was not his first rodeo.

TO 9;44........YOU DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT JUDGE WINGATE , DO YOU?

Anonymous said...

Like the Bureau of Prisons doesn't have immediate access to federal marshals who can transport his ass to the big house in the next fifteen minutes.

Waste of time, effort and Madison funds to divert him through the Highway 51 facility. But, I reckon the MadCo sheriff will get a federal check for about 900 bucks for three days. Balances out. Sorta like what Epps got convicted of.

For crimes committed after November 1, 1987, there is no parole in the federal system. None. Zero. Zilch. Time off for good behavior can be accrued at a rate up to 54 days/year. Epps' sentence of 235 months equals 19.6 years. Assuming he accumulates the max days off for good behavior (54 days/year) he would reduce his sentence by 1,058 days or 2.9 years. This leaves him serving 16.7 years.

Anonymous said...

9:03...thanks for that math lesson. And while you say there is no parole in the federal system, you educate us as to how his sentence will be reduced by three years. Good work. Again, thanks.

Epps was born 01/25/61. He'll just have celebrated his 72nd birthday when they issue him a new suit and open the gate (with time off for excellent behavior). That leaves him somewhere around 20 years to spend the bounty, assuming his wife hasn't spent it all by then.

4:55, right On! When will McCroy go to prison, hopefully to die.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
