CPD Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying Suspects
Clinton, MS (April 3, 2017) Clinton Police are seeking information regarding the owner, driver and occupants of the vehicle used in the March 29, 2017 aggravated assault of a gentleman entering the city of Clinton.
At approximately 2:35 P.M. on March 29, 2017, Clinton Police Dispatch received a call regarding multiple gunshots at the intersection of Magnolia and Old Vicksburg Roads.
Clinton Police responded to the scene and found a 25 year old black male subject, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, laying in a parking lot at the intersection.
Video surveillance footage acquired during the investigation, showed the male subject walking westbound from the Jackson/Clinton city limits on Old Vicksburg Road at Magnolia Road.
Once the victim approaches the intersection of Old Vicksburg Road at Magnolia Road, a silver or light in color four door sedan (possibly a Pontiac G6) traveling the same direction approaches the victim from behind turning right onto Magnolia Road while an occupant of the vehicle fires multiple shots from the passenger side window of the vehicle.
Victim was transported to University Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.
In addition, Clinton police are seeking assistance from the public identifying the suspect in the Sunday, April 2, 2017 carjacking of a student in the parking garage at Mississippi College.
At approximately, 4:33 P.M. on Sunday, a black male suspect approached a student and demanded her vehicle. Suspect took the vehicle, a white 2015 Kia Optima and was last seen heading east on Highway 80.
Surveillance video of the campus has provided a clear image of the suspect. CPD is asking anyone with information pertaining this crime or the location of the stolen vehicle to contact the authorities.
