Find this mutt!!!

The owner of this dog posted this message on Facebook: This is my dog, Little Man. He is my heart. I had a friend watching over my two dogs.  When I finally went to get them back, she told me she had  lost him. She lives in the Magee area.  He was lost on Old Tower Road, south of Magee. If anyone has any information I'm offering a $2,500 reward in cash. You will receive the cash as soon as I see him and we will both make the switch.  I am literally heartbroken and haven't stopped crying since I found out he disappeared.

Alienation defendant: Precious had "no affections to lose"

The fight over who should receive $500,000 from a Precious Martin life insurance policy continued in court this week in State Farm v. Crystal Martin and Brandi Barnett. Ms. Barnett charged that the deceased attorney had numerous affairs when he was alive in an answer to a cross-claim filed by Crystal Martin. The saga began when State Farm filed a complaint for interpleader and asked the court to decide the proper beneficiary for the policy. The life insurance policy named Ms. Barnett as the beneficiary although Precious Martin was married to Crystal at the time of death.

Singing River pension disaster: No excuses.

The Singing River Health System pension fund scandal continues to worsen as it becomes clear the pension fund was ignored and allowed to fall apart since 2009.  Scenes of scared retirees dominate the news as politicians scramble for cover as these same retirees and reporters look for answers.  The Jackson County Board of Supervisors claim ignorance as a "reason" for allowing the financial disaster to take place.  However, the hospital system submitted an audit every year to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors.  JJ obtained copies of the audits from 2009 to 2013 through a public records request.  The auditors stated that Singing River had quit funding the pension but no one paid attention.  The auditors did not do anyone any favors as they buried the details deep in the audits and did not make a serious effort to warn the Supervisors and Chancery Clerk.  What emerges from reading the audits is a picture of a pension fund that was cut off and allowed to die by the Singing River health system administration.

Contact Pamela Hancock for BP Claim

Yesterday the U. S. Supreme Court rejected BP’s Appeal seeking to overturn and end the Settlement.  This is good news for all claimants currently in the Settlement Program and for prospective Claimants who were damaged by BP’s actions, but have not yet made a claim.  We are hoping this will result in the Claims Administration speeding up and completing the processing of the claims that have been filed and are currently in the review process.  This ruling also signals a significant event in the Settlement Process as the deadline for filing of new claims now is set by our calculations as June 6, 2015, or six months from yesterday’s ruling.  This means you need to contact us immediately to see if you qualify.  Many Mississippi businesses have qualified and have received payments.  We do not charge to determine whether you qualify, so why not contact us to see at (601)853-2223?

The splendor of St. Peter's Cathedral in Jackson

Raphael, Murillo, and Michelangelo echo through St. Peter's Cathedral in downtown Jackson.  Father Charles Oliver supervised its construction in 1900.  The red brick building sits across from the Governor's Mansion, its stained glass a window into the Christian past.  The stained glass windows are copied from the works of Raphael and other masters. The cathedral was completely renovated in 2009.  The marble for the altars came from the same quarry used by Michelangelo.  Jackson Jambalaya commissioned local photographer Rick Guy to photograph the cathedral. The pictures of the stained glass windows were shot during the day unless otherwise specified.  Many thanks to the Catholic Diocese of Jackson for its cooperation in this project. Bigger Pie's Kelly Williams: Turtles & Kemper

A myth is a widely held false belief. An ancient Chinese myth says the world is flat and rests on the back of a great turtle which in turn rests on a greater turtle, and so on. It's turtles all the way down. Today this means endless fantasies or fabrications one on top of another.

Which brings us to Mississippi Power's Kemper County Lignite Plant boondoggle. Kemper's fantasy is that worthless lignite can be turned into a syn gas substitute for natural gas in an experimental plant and burned in a slightly modified conventional natural gas plant to produce electricity cheaper than from natural gas.

Kemper's fantasy rests on two other fantasies. One, that the experimental plant would cost $2.2 billion and produce syn gas that would be cheaper than natural gas. Actual cost so far is $5+ billion. No syn gas yet. The higher the plant cost, the higher the fantasy syn gas cost.

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
